Birthday Jamboree

According to Mr. Google and Ms. Wikipedia: A birthday is a day when a person celebrates his or her date of birth. Birthdays are celebrated in numerous cultures, often with a gift, party or rite of passage.

Today is my Mom's birthday. We invited our closest relatives and had a simple gathering or salu-salo. I am in-charge in cooking, so I decided to cook hassle free foods like spaghetti which I know is very generic in birthday occasions as well as fried chicken and cake. I voluntarily present my self to bake a cake for my mom. I know I'm not that "pro" in baking but at least I tried besides effort do count and I know that my cake is not that bad at all. *wink*


Spaghetti:

A little information about our belief is that during birthdays pasta recipes or noodle recipes are not forgotten in one's menu. It is said that preparing noodles or pastas give you longer life span. It's not scientifically proven though, but still a lot of people believe in this, not only because of the belief but because it is also economical especially to people who are on a tight budget.


Fried Chicken:

I can say that fried chicken is always on the top menu. I don't know why, but every time I attend special occasions fried chickens are always present. May be because it is easier to cook than any other chicken recipes available.

Last but not the least, Cake:

Cakes are hallmarks in every birthday celebration or even not in birthdays, it is seen in all events like weddings, christening, anniversary, monthsary and graduation. Indeed, cakes play a special role in different accomplishments in our lives.

Basset Hound - Scooby

Hi-ya fellow bloggers and readers!

Another post about my pets. Please meet my Scooby, he's a basset hound. You know what I like most about basset hound? It's their LONG EARS not only that, their physical features as well. Anyway, basset hounds are born stubborn and I experienced it myself. It's hard to train them honestly! especially how to poo and pee outside our house. It's really a trial and a test of my patience about basset hound. Actually, when I bought scooby, I don't know anything about basset hound, their attitudes or whatever characteristics they have. I'm just fond of collecting hush puppies which tend to be a basset hound, that's why I bought him. A little information about basset hound which might help you know what they really are.

Basset hound are a short-legged breed of dog (same with my previous entry about dachshund), they are part of a hound family. Basset hounds are known for their long ears and droopy eyes ( I can say that it's their asset :D ). They are gentle, friendly and an excellent companion for children. The interesting part about basset hounds is they snore, yes! basset hound do SNORE!. Not only that, they love to sleep. After I feed scooby, he'll immediately lie down on his couch and sleep. I find it funny actually. If only you can see how he does it, it's really funny and I Love it! Basset hounds are also bred to haunt, with their keen nose suited for a little game called Hunting. That's all I can say about basset and about my experienced on them. It's not hard to love them. They're extremely funny for sure! :)
